Murphy's Laws of Combat Operations
Note: This isn't mine, but, it did make me laugh
- Incoming fire has the right of way.
- Automatic weapons --aren't.
- Suppressive fire -- won't.
- If the enemy is in range, so are you.
- If it's stupid and works -- it isn't stupid.
- The easy way is always mined.
- Try to look unimportant -- they may be low on ammunition.
- Never draw fire, it irritates everyone around you.
- No combat ready unit ever passed inspection.
- No inspection ready unit ever passed combat.
- Never share a foxhole with anyone braver than you are.
- If your attack is going really well, it is probably an ambush.
- Your weapon was manufactured by the lowest bidder.
- the enemy diversion you ignore will be his main attack.
- When you have secured an area, don't forget to inform the enemy.
- Make it tough for the enemy to get in, and you won't get out.
- If you're short of everything but enemy, you're in combat.
- Professionals are predictable, amateurs are dangerous.
- The enemy invariably attacks on only two occasions:
- when you are ready for him;
- when you are not.
